Certificate Program Overview
Become a Certified Facilitator in the Organic Psychology of the Natural Systems Thinking Process.
Certification qualifies graduates to instruct or facilitate NatureConnect classes and workshops using the Natural Systems Thinking Process. This certificate is suitable for use for personal healing and development, on its own as a technical certification for professional work, or as an enhancement to a professional degree in education, counseling, coaching, or healing work.
Following the course sequence and links on the community process calendar leads to Project NatureConnect Level I, II, II, Certification.
Certification can be strengthened by additionally arranging to be a PNC affiliate. Affiliates are participants who demonstrate OP/NAE expertise and seek to establish a long term relationship with PNC. This includes being ambassadors for it and/or avatars of it. They are individuals who recognize that for over 50 years PNC has not only originated and offered valuable training in the art and science of OP/NAE but that PNC is also a unique organization with a special holistic integrity that deserves support and already enjoys strong financial donations to help it succeed. In time, PNC may become a cooperative owned and operated by its affiliates.
As part of programs they offer the public, PNC affiliates help their clients learn to use the OP/NAE activities that, at minimum, make up the Orientation Course and Web of Life Imperative Book. This enables their clients to obtain credit for their work with the Affiliate, either directly through affiliates facilitating PNC courses or by clients taking courses online with PNC. Affiliates gain mutually supportive PNC links and pages to and from their websites and may add the PNC insignia to their materials.
Eco-Art Therapy Certificate: Eco-Art Therapy is a blending of traditional Art Therapy with the emerging science of Applied Ecopsychology (learning to think, feel and relate like Nature’s wisdom works). It’s a creative process that anyone at anytime can use to consistently think and feel with the unadulterated clarity and happiness that each of us readily enjoys in attractive natural areas. It makes nature not only cathartic, but therapeutic.
Individual Course Options
ECO 530/630: An Introduction to Eco-Art Therapy. This is a fun, experiential course designed to introduce the student to how adding an art component to nature-connecting activities can enhance the ability of Nature to teach. Both art and nature are non-verbal ways through which our subconscious mind can express itself. In this class, the student will learn techniques to use to facilitate that expression through making therapeutic, nature-inspired art. You do not need to be an “artist” or have any so-called “creative talent” to take this class.
EC0 531/631: Advanced Studies in Eco-Art Therapy. This 12 week class teaches advanced hands-on education, counseling and mental health skills that use art to tap the wisdom of Nature’s ways. Students continue their exploration of a set of creative and therapeutic tools that help reverse the problems caused by our separation from Nature.
